From 1 December 2016 a new OilCode Dispute Resolution Adviser has been appointed to deal with disputes in the petroleum industry.
Derek Minus, a Sydney based Barrister-at-law, Accredited Mediator and Chartered Arbitrator has been personally appointed the Oilcode Dispute Resolution Adviser by The Hon Josh Frydenberg MP, Minister for the Environment and Energy. His company, Dispute Resolution Associates, has been contracted by the Australian Government to manage the Office of the OilCode Dispute Resolution Adviser and provide dispute resolution services to the petroleum industry.
A qualified mediator since 1992, he has had wide experience in mediating a range of disputes from commercial to interpersonal, both privately and as a member of various New South Wales government tribunals. He has extensive commercial experience and teaches the undergraduate course in Commercial Dispute Resolution at the University of Sydney Law School.
